In the 1950s The society matrons of Toronto bought their couture directly from the houses in Europe, through the Simpsons and Eatons Couture salons or had them custom made by Cornelia Couturier who had an atelier in Toronto. Though not a member of the chambre syndicale de la haute couture, her clothing was made to the same exacting standards and the designs and workmanship rival anything being produces anywhere in the world at the time. This is an absolute beauty of an outfit that has all the fine details and workmanship the vintage collector lusts for. It is constructed from a boucle wool in a beautiful shade of sky blue. The dress is fitted with ingenious and avant garde feeling seaming through the bodice and waist to accentuate your figure. There are actual curved seams that have a slight raising to them so they sit off the dress! The skirt folds down and under itself at the front and each sleeve widens and has that unusual half seam on it. All very high end and unusual. The coat has a definite nod to the work of Balenciaga and Dior  and is cut generously and full. I love the short bold sleeves and rounded sculpted quality of the cut. Those same unusual seams are mimicked at the front. Incredible construction and really remarkable and in person - even better! If this was a more well known label I would probably have priced it double or more then what it is at now - the coat alone is worth every penny of the list price. Excellent condition with some very minor flaws to note.

The dress is fully lined and ribbon edge finished in a white silk organza and closes with a back painted metal zipper. The coat is lined in a cream silk and closes with buttons as shown. There is some shattering to the lining of the dress but it is all original and can be worn as is so I have left it. Hand work and finishes throughout. There is a dot of yellowing just under the bust and another on the skirt and in the very brightest of lights a slight tinge of yellow under one arm - the seaming hides this completely when one. One button on the coat has a pencil eraser sized yellowed area. These are very minor and do not detract.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action
Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books. The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.

Stepbrothers, Secrets, and Sizzling Heat
Format: Kindle
Twisted Lies by Roxy Collins is a wild ride through family secrets, amnesia, and a steamy stepbrother romance. When Kelly discovers her life is built on lies, she ends up tangled with three alpha stepbrothers and an assassin who once helped her through a heat. The tension? Off the charts! The heat is real, and the complications are messy in the best way. Full of twists, secrets, and fated mates? You'll be hooked from page one! Love omegaverse drama with a dash of taboo? This one's for you!
