We get it, there's a lot of noise out there. Not all convertible dresses are the same, nor are they created equal. Be sure to look for these key factors when searching for the perfect dress:
1. Fabric Content
High quality four-way stretch knit fabric is key to ensure a flattering convertible dress fit for different body types. Although all Henkaa dresses are made from four-way stretch knit fabrics, some others may be made with two-way stretch knit fabrics or woven fabrics, which typically have lower stretch qualities.
What you need to know:
- Four-way stretch knit fabric stretches both vertically and horizontally, which means the fabric will adjust to your figure, ensuring a flattering and comfortable fit for different body types - plus it's the best choice for a size-flexible garment that adjusts to natural fluctuations in body size
- Two-way stretch knit fabric only stretches in ONE direction, limiting its versatility and adaptability when compared to four-way stretch fabric
- Woven fabric does not always stretch, and when it does, it is not very much, which makes it less flexible. A dress made from this type of fabric would be limited to traditional sizing, reducing its versatility for long-term use
2. Sizing
Extended sizes and skirt lengths are important for maximizing inclusivity of youths and women of varying shapes and body types. A wide size range and flexibility mean you have a greater chance of re-wearing your dress due to its stretchy nature (see #1 above). You can also share it with friends of different shapes and sizes as well!
A flexible range of sizes also means that it is much easier to confidently purchase a convertible dress online and have it fit properly when it arrives.
3. Price
We understand that there are many pricing options to choose from when it comes to convertible dresses. It's worth considering if you are looking for a long-lasting investment piece or just something for a single event. It's also important to be aware of factors like where the dress is made and whether ethical considerations, such as fair wages and good working conditions for employees, are important to you. Behind The Brand
It's not just a dress. It's a movement.
Fourteen years ago, Henkaa entered the fashion scene as a DISRUPTOR, creating innovative, Made in Canada convertible dresses women and girls wear and rewear for many occasions and celebrations, from casual to formal, professional to play; dresses that are not only size flexible, but size inclusive with equality pricing, where the cost to customers was the same no matter their size. We led the way in celebrating diverse women who represented Henkaa on our website, marketing materials and in-person events - because we were and still are about real, authentic people. We wanted fashion to be accessible, easy, playful and fun. And we DID it.
As of December 2024, Henkaa closed its core operations and manufacturing, with a limited supply of our Made in Canada convertible dresses remaining, and have partnered with RevolutionHer to make them accessible to you. Henkaa will live on each time someone wears or rewears one of our convertible dresses. We'd love to be a part of your journey and for you to be a part of our legacy too.
Henkaa owner Sonia Dong is an entrepreneur, podcaster, parent and youth educator, author and mom of two on a quest to live a joyful and abundant life. She believes all aspects of life are connected, and no matter where we are on our journey, we are always growing and changing. Henkaa's late Founder Joanna asked Sonia to join Henkaa after she'd had her first baby - when nothing in her closet fit anymore, except her size flexible, convertible Henkaa dress. It made Sonia feel comfortable and beautiful without much effort at all - perfect for someone who loves to lounge in her joggers but needs and wants to dress up once in a while!
While Sonia is releasing Henkaa with love, she is excited to reach women and girls who would love to have one of Henkaa's remaining size-flexible and convertible dresses in their closet to wear for years to come.

Return Policy
Food, Beauty, Personal Care, Accessories including Handbags/Wallets, Sunglasses, Hats and Hair Items, Jewelry and Sale Items are FINAL SALE.
For all other items, original receipt must be included for full refund within 14 days of purchase, otherwise store credit or exchange will be offered for non-sale items within 14 days of purchase. All items must have product tags fully intact and product in same condition as when sold.
