DECKLIST

🧛 Commander snapshot

Edgar Markov3 W B R

  • EminenceWhenever you cast another Vampire spell, create a 1/1 black Vampire creature token (even from the command zone!).
  • First strike • haste.
  • When Edgar attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on each Vampire you control.

TL;DR: every Vampire spell is 2 Vampires, and Edgar’s first swing often represents ~10–15 damage out of nowhere.

🛠 Core engines & packages

Engine Key cards Why it matters
Free tokens Edgar’s EminenceLegion LandingQueen’s Bay Palace (Vault of Champions token art) Bodies for sacrifice, +1/+1 counters, or just wide beats.
Blood-for-value Blood ArtistBastion of RemembranceIndulgent Aristocrat Sack 1/1s to drain the table; Blood Artist + Impact Tremors ends games quickly.
Big payoffs Cordial Vampire (global pump) • Captivating Vampire (steal their creatures) • Markov Baron (Emeria, Charmed Groom alt face) Convert swarm into board domination.
Token doublers Anointed ProcessionMondrak (flavor-shifted chibi demon!) Each Vampire spell = 4 Vampires with a doubler → exponential counters on attack.
Treasure burst The One RingSmothering TitheBlack Market Connections Funds costly finishers like Insurrection or Rakdos’s Return (chibi fire!).

💣 Win lines

  • Aristocrats drain
    • Any sac outlet (Phyrexian Altar, Altar of Dementia, Ashnod’s Altar)
    • Blood Artist / Zulaport Cutthroat / Poison-Tipped Archer → infinite (or enough) blood drain when combined with Oathsworn Vampire + Altar loops or Reassembling Skeleton recycling with Treasures.
  • Combat alpha
    • Shared Animosity or Metallic Mimic set to Vampire, swing with 15+ hasty 3/3s after Edgar’s pump.
    • Edgar’s Mark style: New Blood to steal biggest blocker, then crash in.
  • Combo twist (optional)
    • Necrotic Ooze + Bloodline Necromancer + Phantom Vampire lines for infinite ETBs, but you can omit for casual tables.

☑️ Notable card choices

  • Twilight Prophet – “Bob” for Vampires; with 40+ life you reliably flip lands & drain 5–6.
  • Rakdos Charm – Grave-hate or instant win vs token decks (each creature deals 1 dmg to controller).
  • Faithless Looting + Bloodghast – Loot awkward hands, recur Bloodghast for Eminence triggers.
  • Markov Familiars: Stormkirk Captain (+1/+1 & first strike) and Drana & Linvala (shuts off enemy activated abilities while copying them!).

⚙️ Curve example

Turn Play
1 Esper Sentinel / Vampire of the Dire Moon (lifelink deathtouch).
2 Talisman + any 2-drop Vampire → Eminence token.
3 Captivating Vampire (lord) or Smothering Tithe if drawn.
4 Cast Edgar. Wide board now ~6-8 bodies.
5 Shared Animosity / Impact Tremors • attack → lethal swing or 15+ drain damage.

🏷 Table etiquette & tips

  1. Sandbag Edgar until you have 2–3 cheap Vampires in hand; the post-Edgar turn can KO someone.
  2. Prioritise Aristocrat drain pieces early— they deter board wipes (“Sure, but you’ll lose 15 life.”).
  3. Changeling Outcast (1-drop unblockable) is your best Skullclamp target and always triggers Eminence.
  4. Remember Edgar’s tokens enter before the spell resolves; Path to Exile your own token in a pinch to ramp.

Enjoy leading your adorable legion of night-stalking nobles — with cute fangs and cuter damage output!

Too expensive, tastes fine
I was worried based on reviews, but I think these taste fine! I don't eat a lot of candy anyway, but sometimes I just need 1-2 pieces to satisfy a sweet/sour craving. These are great since I'm on the Keto diet. They aren't overly sour for sure, but they still have some sourness to them. There's a bit of an aftertaste since they are made with sugar substitutes, but nothing terrible. My only complaint is the price. Way too expensive for the amount you get.

Not bad
The cherry tastes too much like cherry cough syrup. The grape fruit and apple aren't bad. For a no sugar candy for diabetics when you're having a craving, not bad.

I Wouldn’t Call Them Sour
Did I enjoy this candy? Absolutely. Did it meet my expectations? No. I have anxiety. I’ve heard about the technique of using a sour candy to distract from an anxiety attack. Well, I also have insulin resistance so I have been looking for a sugar-free sour candy which it turns out is a tall order. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I tasted these because they really don’t taste sour. While I enjoy the flavors (especially grapefruit) they aren’t sour. A big bummer. I do think the nutrition for this candy is awesome, though. They have a good amount of fiber and are made with xylitol which is great for oral health. Overall, I think they are pricey and not necessarily worth the cost considering they are not anything special outside of the nutritional values. Bummer!
