Everyone needs reverb, and Animals Pedal brings the Bath Time Reverb to add the color and depth to your tone that you seek. This pedal features two of the most popular reverb sounds (SPRING and HALL) and you can set them to fit your vibe.

Our latest version of the BTR has improved access to the footswitch by placing it to the front right spot on the pedal, while also making it easier to change the battery when needed. The art has been upgraded, and the circuit has been fine-tuned and expanded to work well with a wider range of guitars and amplifiers. A new FILTER knob has been added to the controls, and the reverb now has two settings that are easy to understand.

Adjust the balance between the dry (original) sound and the wet (effect) sound with the REVERB knob. The more you turn this knob clockwise, the stronger the wet signal becomes and your signal will be almost all reverb decay. If you set it to the maximum, the sound will continue to decay from a small note, and you can make beautiful sustaining tones like strings. The DECAY knob will make the reverb extend from a short reverb (sounds like a bathroom) to a much longer reverb (sounds like a church). If you set it for a long decay, you will be transported to an outer space cathedral that is vast and fantastic.

The FILTER knob adjusts the brightness of the reverb tone. Interior spaces with hard walls tend to sound brighter, while softer spaces like wood sound softer. You can change the texture of the reverb space by adjusting this knob. And most importantly, the switch will give you a choice between SPRING and HALL reverb sounds. The SPRING sound is the classic reverb tank heard in amplifiers all over the world and features in genres like surf, classic rock, and 50s. The HALL setting is more of an open and spacious sound that can sound like a small room to a great cathedral.

What IS the Reverb Effect?

Reverb is an effect that simulates complex sound reflections so that sound echoes in real space by applying a randomly set delay to the guitar sound. In the vernacular of guitar tones, “echo” is a delay-style effect. However, on Karaoke machines and home stereo systems, “echo” is more of a reverb effect. It was an effect aimed at creating a spatial spread of sound, and in the past the studio engineers would mic the room to capture the reverb reflections. After this, there was “plate reverb” using a thin sheet of metal that was 3 x 9ft – however, such a large device was expensive and only large studios could have one. Spring reverb is the best-known analog reverb effect. The swing of the spring added a mechanical reverberation to the sound and was small enough to install on many classic guitar amplifiers. Especially favored in surf music, you can hear it in classic songs by instrumental guitar groups like The Ventures and Dick Dale.

As technology marches on, the digital delays start to appear and make it much easier to recreate all sort of reverb, from small bathroom-style plates to large cathedral spaces. This is the current style reverb pedal. THE LARGE SPREAD OF SOUND THAT USED TO BE MADE IN LARGE HALLS CAN NOW BE MADE WITH THE PALM-SIZED DEVICE LIKE THE BATH TIME REVERB!

Bath Time Reverb allows you to choose two types of reverb sounds that guitarists need the most. You can apply reverb on any riff, and I hope you enjoy it – but as a simple way to use the BTR, adjust the switch to HALL and set DECAY to the center/noon. For slower tempo songs such as ballads, choose HALL and fully enjoy the gorgeous sound spread. For surf music, southern rock, classic rock, choose the SPRING which makes the sound of the spring reverb as used in the classic 50s and 60s tube amplifiers.

The foot switch is true bypass. It's powered by a 9V battery or a standard center minus DC9V adapter. Because of the high current consumption, it is recommended to drive with an adapter.

Jonas Claesson, a surf art painter active in Australia, oversees the design.
I dropped the bathroom into the design where I can feel the reverb effect the most. Enjoy the unbalanced design of the bathroom and polar bear.

Current consumption: 140mA
Input impedance: 500k ohm
Output impedance: 10k ohm

※It takes a few seconds for the internal digital chip to drive stably after first turning on the power. In the meantime the tone may not be stable, so please wait in a bypass state for a few seconds after connecting the adapter.

Size: 64 W x 112 D x 50 H mm (including projections)

Love these shorts, I was very happy with the look, color, weight, and fabric quality. Great value. I wish they had a light pink color in the same style and fabric.

Practicality First
Color: Brown/Black, Color: Brown/Black
This is a simple, no frills watch from a well regarded brand. It has good water resistance, good durability, and high accuracy. If all you need is a way to tell the time that won’t fail you, buy this watch. As it’s solar powered, it doesn’t need to be wound or have a battery replaced or charged in the foreseeable future. This longevity and low effort maintenance was the most important feature for me, and part of why I chose this over a digital watch (along with digital watches potentially being bricked from firmware). I shouldn’t have to say this but obviously it doesn’t come out of the box charged and working - you need to leave it by a window or something for a day. After that, it will always work so long as you wear it outside every so often. The battery life is claimed to be 2 months but I’m not about to leave it in a closet for 2 months to test this. This is a newer model than the version I’d been trying to buy and it appears to have a more readable face as well as luminescent watch hands which are helpful for telling the time in the dark. It’s also nearly silent so ticking won’t be an issue. My only complaint is the watchband. It’s a serviceable quick release band, but it’s a bit on the short side and I wanted something of higher quality so I replaced it with a Hirsch 120mm/100mm watchband that actually fits and is altogether nicer than the out of the box band.

The simplest watch there is
Color: Khaki/Black, Color: Khaki/Black
I have a 7-inch wrist and I would like to think that it's the average size (judging from the pictures I have seen from other reviews.) The watch came in from Amazon with zero charge so I charged it for about an hour using a solar watch charger and that brought it back to life. I found that you could charge a solar watch from empty to full in about 5 hours. What I like about this watch is that it fits and feels right on my wrist, is not ostentatious, not flashy, and doesn't crave for attention. You could read the time very well outdoors and even indoors. Even in the dark, the lume is laid-back, but you could still tell the time from the triangular hour markers and the hour and minute hands of the watch. I also like that it has a screw-down case back. I like to tinker with my gadgets and a screw-down case back allows me easy access to the battery when it's time to be replaced. It's also solar-powered, has a 4-month power reserve, an easy-to-operate crown, and has sapphire crystal to boot! Fun fact: I found out recently that they made these watches in Timex's watch factory in Cebu, Philippines. By purchasing it from Amazon, it actually did a return trip back here in the Philippines! Update after a month's use: I changed the strap with a black NATO one and it looks even better with the matte finish of the case. The charge appears to remain strong. I'll probably notice the weird erratic second hand movement (the watch does this when the charge is about to drain) after 4 months. Until then, it's not time for a recharge.

Great specs but not much else.
Color: Khaki/Black, Color: Khaki/Black
The 36mm form factor wears small. Even on my 6-7/8" wrist. It could be that I've gotten used to the more modern 40-42mm case diameters on my other watches. Or that the 12mm thickness compared to its slender diameter gives it an odd proportion that makes the watch appear a bit smaller than it already is. But either way, it does feel small on the wrist. So if you havent tried this one on in person, be prepared for that. If you have very small wrists or prefer the aesthetic of smaller watches, then this size will be great for you. The value of this watch is difficult to pin down. In one sense, well the specs speak for themselves. And Timex has a proven history of reliabilty. But I ranked "value for money" at 3 stars, because at the end of the day you're paying $170 for a Timex. Something about that feels... weird. Timex doesnt have quite the heritage or prestige of say Citizen or Seiko - or heck even Casio for that matter. Its just a very difficult price to justify for a Timex field watch despite the great specs. I hoped in person the dial and hands would be at least slightly more impressive than they appear in the stock photos. But, no they are just as flat and blasé as in the stock photos. If you're looking for a no-nonsense solar field watch with all the specs this watch has and in this smaller 36mm case diameter, there are very few options out there. Especially under $200 (which is why I purchased it). So in that regard, I suppose its worth it. But at this price point I would like to feel a little more proud of whats on my wrist, in terms of aesthetics and design. And I dont really get that with this watch. I even think the regular quartz version of the the Timex Expedition at around $40-50 has more wrist appeal than this watch. I do like the style of the syringe shaped hands, generally speaking. But keep in mind that a Hamilton this is not. There isnt really the level of detail put into the design to dazzle the eye. Kind of a shame really because with these specs, this watch had a lot of potential to be a classic. Havent decided if Im going to keep it or send it back.
